By downloading or using Steppet ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. About the App

Steppet is a local-first fitness and gamified step tracking app. It tracks your daily steps and evolves a virtual pet based on your activity.

The App may also include GPS-based route tracking, map views, route history, pace and distance estimates, and shareable route stickers.

The App is designed to work primarily on your device, keeping most personal data stored locally.

3. User Accounts / Information

During onboarding, the App may ask for basic information such as your name. This is used only for personalization, such as displaying your name in the App and linking it to your pet progress.

No account is required unless stated in future updates.

4. Location, GPS, and Map Features

Some Steppet features may require location permission, including GPS route tracking, map display, route history, pace and distance calculation, and route stickers.

By enabling GPS or map-based features, you understand that:

• Location accuracy may vary depending on your device, environment, signal quality, and operating system.
• GPS-based distance, pace, and route data are estimates.
• Maps and route views may not always be complete, accurate, or available.
• You are responsible for using the App safely and being aware of your surroundings.

You can disable location access at any time through your device settings, but some map and route features may stop working.

5. Health and Fitness Disclaimer

Steppet is not a medical or health device. Step counts, GPS distance, pace, calories, activity data, and route information are estimates and should not be used for medical, diagnostic, emergency, or safety-critical purposes.

Always consult a qualified health professional before starting or changing any fitness routine if you have health concerns.

6. User Responsibilities

You agree not to:

• Modify, reverse engineer, or tamper with the App
• Use the App for illegal purposes
• Attempt to disrupt or interfere with its functionality
• Use the App in a way that distracts you from your surroundings or creates unsafe situations
• Misuse route, map, or sharing features

7. Third-Party Services

Steppet may use third-party services, including Mapbox, to provide maps and related functionality. These services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Steppet is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, performance, or policies of third-party services.

8. Sharing Features

The App may allow you to create and share route stickers, stats, screenshots, or other summaries. You are responsible for anything you choose to share outside the App.

Before sharing, please review the content carefully, especially if it may reveal personal information such as routes, locations, routines, or activity patterns.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, branding, artwork, and features of Steppet remain the property of the developer unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute them without permission.

10. Changes to the App

We may update, modify, add, or discontinue features at any time without prior notice. This may include changes to step tracking, GPS features, maps, premium features, pets, stickers, or other App functionality.

11. Limitation of Liability

Steppet is provided "as is" and "as available." We are not responsible for any damages, data loss, inaccurate activity data, route errors, location inaccuracies, service interruptions, or issues resulting from the use of the App.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, your use of the App is at your own risk.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the App means you accept the updated Terms.
